Called Meeting of North Central Presbytery meeting at the

Willow Creek CP Church, Martinsville, IL

February 26th, 2011, 9:00 a.m. Local Time

 

North Central Presbytery met in called session at 9:00 a,m, on Saturday 26, Februay, 2011, with the Willow Creek CPC.  Moderator Jesses Thornton opened the meeting with prayer and gave the devotional from Matthew 15:29-39.  He spoke on the 5 steps to meet the needs of people.  Be available, be compassionate, be willing to use what you have, minister to the needs of the people and be a witness to God’s power.  Moderator called the meeting to order

 

The clerk called the roll by sign in and reported a quorum present.  Moderator prayed the Constituting Prayer.  The clerk read the call of the meeting (Appendix A).  Excuses were read and accepted by motion vote.

 

 A letter of dismission was received for Rev. Steve Blaum from Red River Presbytery.  On Motion vote Rev. Blaum was received and enrolled.

 

 A letter was received from Rev. Rich Shugert requesting that his letter be transferred to Red River Presbytery.   On motion vote Rev. Shugert’s request was granted.

 

A letter was received from Rev. Terra Cisco requesting her letter be transferred to Covenant Presbytery.  On motion vote Rev. Cisco’s request was granted.

 

There being no further business allowed by the call, the minutes were approved, roll call made and quorum declared.  Presbytery was adjourned to the next scheduled meeting on April 1-2, 2011 with the New Hope CPC in Yale Illinois.  Moderator closed with prayer.

In accordance with the Cumberland Presbyterian Constitution section 5.8 and with the concurrence of the undersigned ministers and elders do hereby call a meeting of North Central Presbytery on Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at 9:00 A.M local time in conjunction with the Spring Board meetings at the Willow Creek Church in Martinsville, Illinois.  The purpose of this meeting is to receive a necessary report from the Board of Nominations and to act on such letters of transfer that have been received.
